When you were younger, did you want to be an actress?
Keana, 13, Aurora, CO
My grandma has evidence that from the age of three I wanted to act. I said, 'Number one, I want to be a fairy; number two, a princess; and number three, an actress.' So it did rate lowest, but my first two were kind of unrealistic.
Have you ever visited one of your fan sites?

Have you ever visited one of your fan sites?
Manasa, 13, San Jose, CA
To be honest, I try not to read what people write about me. If I did, I think I would be seriously messed up. I get told that a lot of the feedback is very positive. But you know, it's hard enough being my age without listening to people's different opinions about what you wore or what you said.
In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (left and below), Emma's Hermione travels through time so she can enroll in extra classes and has an excellent bad-guy-slugging scene (take that, mean old Malfoy!). How does it feel to be a role model for girls all over the world?
Florangel, 13, Fair Lawn, NJ
Gosh, to be honest, I think of Hermione as a role model, but it sounds really strange to imagine myself as one. I don't think I've done enough to deserve that.
I know that you lived in France for about five years when you were a kid. Can you speak any French?
Linnea, 15, Sweden
I used to speak fluent French, and then I came [to England] and struggled to get my English perfect. So now I've forgotten all of my French! I still have a good French accent, though.
Do you have a birthmark?
I have three. One looks like a patch of freckles just above my wrist, and I've got one on my tummy and ankle as well.
How tall are you?
Rain, 15, Newark, New Jersey
I'm about five-foot-five.
It's obvious you can't answer all of your fan letters, but do you read them?
The Harry Potter Stuff
The Hogwarts motto is "Never tickle a sleeping dragon." I hate being tickled, especially on my feet, so I am wondering--how ticklish are you?
Zoe, 15, Dorset, England
[Laughing] Actually, I'm not ticklish. I think I've become immune to it fighting with my brother so much. It doesn't have much effect anymore!
Are you like Hermione?
Sara, 15, Puyallup, WA
I've been denying that I'm anything like her, but I've come to terms with the fact that we're really quite similar. As the films go on, the comparison is a big compliment. She stands for girl power; she won't let anyone mess her around; she's got two guys for best friends but still holds her own. I love that she's intelligent and proud of that fact; she's determined; she never gives up; she's loyal; she stands up for her friends. I think she's kickass.
Is it hard being the only girl in the Harry Potter movies?
Karina, 12, Ventura, CA
I get on really well with Dan and Rupert. We have a close friendship. To some extent, they're the only people in the world who know what it's like to have gone through what I have.
If you could pick a different Harry Potter character to play, who would it be, and why?
Noortje, 16, Holland
Malfoy, because it would be fun to play the mean guy for once. I loved hitting him [in Prisoner of Azkaban]. Loved it!
If you could teach anything at Hogwarts School, what would it be and why?
Harriet, 15, East Sussex, England
I love teaching. I'm helping my little brother through his math homework, which I really enjoy. At Hogwarts I would teach Defense Against the Dark Arts...but I wouldn't want to get killed.
Favorites!
What kind of music do you listen to?
Charis, 13, Duncan, British Columbia, Canada
This question kills me every time because I listen to so many different types of music, I promise. I listen to a lot of hip-hop at the moment. And then I like chilled out stuff-Coldplay's new album is brilliant. Damien Rice is great; I love John Mayer's new album. And then I like old stuff-Joni Mitchell, my mother and I listen to Celine Dion. The list goes on forever.
I've heard you like Starbucks very much. What is your favorite drink there?
Andrea, 15, Stockholm, Sweden
[incredibly quickly] Chocolate and Cream Frappuccino
What's your favorite candy?
Victoria, 15, Madison, WI
I have a terrible sweet tooth. I love...I don't know what they're called in America. They're long and red. Twizzlers!
What is your favorite perfume?
Eleni, IL
DKNY Delicious. I'm really bad--I hardly ever wear perfume--it doesn't do anything for me. A lot of perfume is really heavy and yuck, but this I absolutely love. It's not like a perfume, it's like wearing something that smells sweet and nice.
Who inspires you the most and why?
Chamaine, 13, Toronto
Renee Zellwegger, because she's not afraid to take on character parts-she's a real actress, which I look up to. She's not just someone who wants to stand around and look beautiful. I also think Natalie Portman is brilliant.
Who makes your favorite pair of jeans?
Amy Lynn, 19, Newport News, VA
At the moment my favorite pair is probably my gray Sass and Bides.
What is your favorite type of soup?
Eleni, IL
Heinz tomato soup, all the way.
Fashionista Fodder
You always look so flawless. Any tips for an admiring girl like me on how to look nice?
Ali, 14, Whittier, NC
Awww, you're sweet! Just be comfortable in what you're wearing, Ali. Dress for who you are, and how old you are-don't try to be anything else. I don't have a stylist yet. A lot of my clothes I pick out with my mom or friends. I quite like that-having my own sense of style and feeling like when I go out there, it's me.
Music Talk
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Madison, 18, Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
I love "Roxanne" from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack. Or maybe an Alanis Morissette song..."Messy" or "Ironic"-one of those classics.
Your fans know you love to sing-could this be a future career?
Cassandra, 19, Sydney, Australia
I do love to sing. But if I was gonna release anything, I definitely must be over 16 and I wouldn't want it to be poppy and crap and manufactured. I'd want it to be something that I'd written. My dad is a huge fan of music--he's taught me everything--and I couldn't put something out there that was rubbish. Who knows what the future holds? We'll see.
L-O-V-E notes
Now...the important stuff
Do you watch The O.C.?
Katharina, 14, Vienna, Austria
I don't, actually. But my friends love it.
Are you a blond or a brunette?
Kacy, 14, Tacoma, WA
To set the record straight, I have never had my hair dyed. And if I have had to dye it, it's to go darker for the films. I have really fine hair, so it bleaches when I go in the sun. I would say I'm a brunette, to be fair, with a bit of blond.
Describe yourself in five words.
Iris, 13, Uft, Holland
I don't want to sound cocky, but at the same time I don't want to put myself down too much. I'd say ambitious. Hard-working. Loyal. Passionate.
What's the last dream you remembered?
Iris, 13, Uft, Holland I always love hearing about other people's dreams, but I can never really remember my own. Which is a shame, because I think it'd be great.
In the future, will you continue acting or do something else?
-Yized, 16, Columbus Junction, IA
I'm not sure yet. I'm looking at what's going to get me into university, not really what career I'll have. Besides, I've got it pretty good right now, I think.
